Wisconsin Congressional Candidate Derrick Van Orden Hauls In $830,000 for Swing-District Campaign

Derrick Van Orden, a Republican businessman and congressional candidate in Wisconsin, hauled in more than $800,000 in the previous fundraising quarter.

According to data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Van Orden is dominating his competition in fundraising efforts.

After raking in the large sum in the final quarter of 2021, Van Orden now has $1.4 million cash on hand. The closest competitor has roughly $286,000.

“I would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to each and every person who has supported my campaign to bring real representation back to Western Wisconsin, unseat Nancy Pelosi as Speaker, and put an end to the disastrous policies of Pelosi and Joe Biden that continue to hurt Americans. In the last year, we’ve seen record inflation, skyrocketing gas and grocery prices, and an open border that has led to more Fentanyl deaths than ever before,” Van Orden said of the fundraising numbers.

“Our grassroots movement has shown that freedom-loving conservatives in Wisconsin and around the nation are united and fired up to fire Pelosi.”

Previously, the contender picked up an endorsement from former President Donald Trump.

“Derrick Van Orden is running for Congress in Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District. Derrick is a former Navy SEAL Senior Chief who bravely served and defended our country. He strongly supports our military, veterans, law enforcement, and he will always fight for secure borders, the Second Amendment, and our incredible farmers. Derrick has my complete and total endorsement!” Trump said in the brief statement.

Van Orden is running for a vacant seat that was left open when U.S. Representative Ron Kind (D-WI-03) decided to retire from Congress at the end of his term, opting not to run for re-election in the Wisconsin swing district.

However, the lines of the district may be altered as the state continues its redistricting process.
