Wisconsin U.S. Senator Ron Johnson Says Vaccine Mandates Are Unconstitutional and Divisive

Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson said that COVID vaccine mandates are “unconstitutional.” In the Fox News interview Friday, he went on to say that mandates are “divisive” and will “destroy our economy.”

Johnson said he believes that a vaccine mandate “makes no sense.” He asked people to “follow the science,” saying “what we do know is that people who are vaccinated can still get infected, they can still transmit, so why would we segregate the society based on vaxxed versus unvaxxed.”

He said that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is not providing the public with the information needed to properly understand COVID. Johnson shared a statistic from a study done in England where 63% of COVID deaths were fully vaccinated individuals.

He asked what the point would be of “devastating mandates.” Johnson believes a mandate would negatively impact the healthcare industry and military readiness. He shared that whistleblowers have come to him, but that gag orders are preventing them from publicly sharing “the truth of what is happening inside our military, inside our healthcare facilities.”

Johnson presented research from England to the Senate last week, showing that the COVID vaccine is not as effective as the CDC would like the population to believe.

In another tweet, Johnson asks, “Why won’t [the CDC] share US data with the American people? What is the justification of mandates and refusal to recognize natural immunity?”

Senator Johnson is the sponsor of a bill that would prohibit vaccine mandates from being enacted. The bill is titled “Prevent Unconstitutional Vaccine Mandates for Interstate Commerce Act.”

As reported by The Wisconsin Daily Star, “The Biden administration’s decision to mandate vaccines for working Americans is an outrageous trampling of civil liberties and a dangerous precedent for what a U.S. president can unilaterally impose on the American public,” Johnson said in a statement.
