Tucker Carlson Discusses Trump, Racism in America, His Firing from Fox News, and More in First Interview Since Departure

Former Fox News primetime host Tucker Carlson revealed he still doesn’t know the reason why he was fired from the network during a recent sit-down interview with actor Russell Brand.

On the actor’s podcast ‘Stay Free With Russell Brand,’ Carlson said, “I was surprised. I didn’t expect to get fired that morning at all in April. So I was shocked, but I wasn’t really shocked and I wasn’t mad. It’s not my company.”

“This is not the first time I’ve been fired,” Carlson added. “And I think in our business, when you work for a big company in media and you know, you say what you think, there’s an expectation that you could get fired. I’ve always had that, and I’ve always tried to take the long view, not just on media, but on life.”

Carlson also noted that when working for another individual, “that person reserves the right, and in fact has inherently the right to decide whether you work there or not.”

“I don’t know why I was fired, I really don’t. I’m not angry about it,” Carlson added. “I wish Fox well.”

Carlson went on to explain that he has an “obligation” to be “engaged” in the life of the community, country, and world.

“My only fear has been, maybe, being a little bit too happy,” Carlson admitted before adding that he’s happily “back to work.”

Since his firing from Fox News, Carlson has launched a video podcast dubbed “Tucker on Twitter.” The production currently consists of eight episodes that boast a combined total of 391.5 million views.

Discussing his Twitter show on Brand’s podcast, Carlson clarified, “I’m not working for Elon Musk… what he’s done is offered me is what he’s offered every other user at Twitter which is a chance to broadcast your views without a gatekeeper.”

As of press time, Carlson’s appearance with Brand has been viewed 2.39 million times on Rumble.
