Expert Details How Biden Administration is ‘Ignoring’ Congressional Statutes in Attempt to Cover Up Illegal Immigration Crisis

Illegal Immigrants

Todd Bensman, senior national security fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, said the Biden administration is desperately trying to escape the press coverage of migrants illegally crossing the southern border by ignoring congressional statutes to allow for the abuse of the parole authority to take place.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ Policy Manual says the following when it comes to granting parole authority for “noncitizens”:

The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) gives the Secretary of Homeland Security discretionary authority to parole into the United States temporarily, under conditions the Secretary may prescribe, on a case-by-case basis for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit, any noncitizen applying for admission to the United States, regardless of whether the person is inadmissible to, or removable from, the United States.

Once a noncitizen is paroled into the United States, the parole allows the noncitizen to stay temporarily in the United States.

Despite this, Bensman said the Biden administration is allowing for parole to be granted to illegal aliens by the millions.

“The Biden administration is completely ignoring all of the laws on the books and they’re making up their own rules as a replacement to the congressional statutes. This business about releasing people into the country temporarily on parole masks millions of people, hundreds of thousands of people across the border. That’s this brand new thing that the Biden administration decided to do just to clear [the illegal aliens] out, get them off the border quickly so that Fox News drones don’t capture the terrible political optics of that,” Bensman said on Friday’s episode of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.

“That is under legal challenge. There are 20 states that have been suing over the administration’s use of that, and they claim it’s an illegal use of the parole authority…The [Immigration and Nationality Act] says ‘on a case-by-case basis,’ a few people a year kind of thing – not hundreds of thousands,” Bensman added.

Bensman also detailed how the Biden administration has unlawfully given the green light for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other entities to pay for airfare of illegal aliens to be flown directly into the U.S. from other nations and around the nation on temporary parole status.

“The flight program is another form of abuse of that parole. A lot of immigration experts and lawyers believe that one also is completely illegal. You just can’t fly people that are inadmissible,” Bensman said.

“You can go into any airport these days and just find hundreds and maybe even thousands of recent border crossers moving through the country, through the aviation channels to their final destinations for resettlement. That’s how they’re getting around. They fly. You can see them everywhere. In the telltale, the way you know it’s going to be one of the border crossers is that they’re carrying official documents, usually in a plastic bag. That’s usually the telltale sign right there. That’s how you can tell…The whole aviation system is absolutely clogged up with illegal immigrants,” Bensman added.

Regarding Congress acting on the immigration crisis, Bensman said federal lawmakers will do “nothing.”

“They can’t do anything there. It’s a split Congress. Nobody can really do anything and they’re divided over this particular issue,” Bensman added.
